The philosophy of what we do – inspiring insights – is rooted in our name.

Povaddo specializes in public opinion and societal expectations research to help our clients develop better strategies and stronger communications to address complex issues and challenges that are facing their organizations.

Povaddo was founded in 2009 by William Stewart who began his research career at a political polling firm in Washington, DC, and later became global head of research for one of the largest PR firms in the world.

Building upon his roots in political polling and strategic communications research, his vision for Povaddo is to serve as “corporate pollsters” to the world’s largest companies.

To that end, we tend to work with “the other side of the house” – most of our clients sit within external affairs, corporate affairs, public affairs, corporate communications, business planning and strategy, or the c-suite.

For over 15 years, Povaddo has completed north of 1,000 studies – surveys, focus groups, and in-depth interviews – across more than 100 countries and six continents. During this time, Povaddo has developed a reputation as one of the foremost opinion research firms capable of handling projects all over the world.

Shortly after the firm’s inception in 2009, Jim Heys joined Povaddo as a founding partner. With decades of experience in graphic arts and design thinking, Jim has been instrumental in bringing research insights to life via high quality data visualization.

In 2018, Povaddo created the Povaddo Panel – our proprietary research panel with over 10,000 public policy leaders and business elites from around the world.

In 2023, Povaddo opened its first office (and focus group venue) outside of the United States. The firm’s operation in Cape Town, South Africa underscores our global expertise and capabilities.
